The specific preservation method depends on the pumped medium, pump materials, and storage conditions. The pump should also be stored in a dry and suitable environment and protected from contamination and moisture.
Correct pipeline support is equally important. The suction and discharge pipes should have independent supports so that their weight and thermal or mechanical loads are not transferred to the pump body. Excessive pipeline stress can cause misalignment, leakage, vibration, or premature failure of the pump and coupling. During installation, the pump should also be positioned within the allowable suction or self-priming conditions specified for the selected model.
